    Carlos Suarez-Quian

    Dr. Carlos A. Suárez-Quian is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Harvard University and post-doctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Child Health.

    In 1986, Dr. Suárez-Quian joined the Department of Cell Biology at Georgetown University Medical Center. He currently resides in the Department of Biochemistry as a full professor. Dr. Suárez-Quian has published over 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts and 10 chapters and received extensive funding from the NIH. He has spoken at numerous national and international meetings, and taught in the Frontiers of Reproduction Course at Woods Hole. Dr. Suárez-Quian was director of medical gross anatomy for over 20 years and remains director of the clinical program. He is the recipient of the Golden Apple, the Geza Illes, and the Kaiser-Permanente teaching awards. In May 2008, he was inducted into the MAGIS Society of Master Teachers, the highest award Georgetown bestows on its faculty. He was a founding member and co-directs the Georgetown Medical Center Mini Medical School Program, now in its 25th year. He is the author of the Online Guided Gross Anatomy Dissector, Sinauer Associates, Inc., and co-author of The Clinical Anatomy of the Cranial Nerves, 2015, by J.A. Vinlensky, W.M. Robertson and C.A. Suárez-Quian. More recently, he published the seven book series of All-in-One Anatomy Exam Review: Image-Based Questions and Answers in Apple iBooks with J.A. Vilensky. Dr. Suárez-Quian served as one of 15 national judges for the annual Regeneron Science Competition.
