Ani Matson
Professor Ani Matson is an award-winning educator and marketing leader with over thirty years of experience in strategic marketing, digital transformation, and data analytics.
She teaches In Search of the Big Idea and Foundations of Integrated Marketing Communications at Georgetown University's School of Continuing Studies and serves as the Academic Director of the Georgetown Summer Business Academy. In 2022, she received the prestigious Tropaia Award for Outstanding Faculty.
Professor Matson is the Co-Founder of CMO Syndicate, a brain trust of C-level growth strategists who solve complex business challenges for CEOs, VCs, CMOs, and private equity firms. She has held executive roles at the National Education Association’s Member Benefits Corporation and S&P Global. She is a successful entrepreneur, having launched, grown, and sold a publishing company before she was 30.
An advocate for lifelong learning, Professor Matson holds a BA in International Relations from Clark University, an MBA from the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business, a Strategic Marketing Management Certificate from Harvard Business School, and an Executive Data Science Specialization from Johns Hopkins University.
Dedicated to community and industry, Professor Matson serves on EveryMind and Help Heal Vets boards and advises the Maryland Tech Council's Business Continuity Taskforce.
Craig O'Connor
Craig O’Connor has served as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University since the spring semester of 1997.
He has taught International Business in the Undergraduate Program of the McDonough School of Business continuously since 1997, and since 2012 has taught International Project Finance in the MBA program. Professor O'Connor is a past recipient of Dean’s Award for Excellence in Adjunct Faculty Teaching, and in 2016 received the Peter W. Gonzalez, Jr. Award for Excellence in Adjunct Faculty Teaching. Professor O’Connor is the current Faculty Director for McDonough School of Business Global Business Experience – Ireland for the Masters in International Management Program.
Professor O’Connor currently serves as the Senior Director for International Business Development and Strategy at Nextracker, the world’s largest supplier of solar power tracking systems for the last 8 consecutive years.
From January 1993 to January 2024 Professor O'Connor served in various trade finance and project finance positions at the Export-Import Bank of the United States in Washington, D.C. Professor O’Connor began his career at the Bank as the Loan Officer for the Middle East and North Africa, was appointed as the Bank’s Environmental Liaison Officer in 1994, and served as a Director for International Business Development from 1998-2008, where he covered the Asia Pacific and Latin America Regions. From 2008 to 2024, Professor O'Connor served as the Bank's Renewable Energy Officer, and also as a Senior Loan Officer within the Project and Structured Finance Division. He worked closely with renewable energy exporters, international customers, and project developers to create “Bankable” project structures. In 2008, he created the Bank's Renewable Energy Business Development Initiative that resulted over $4 billion in support of renewable energy exports.
