Did you know that only nine of our states require a single year of U.S. government or civics lessons in school? Here at Georgetown, we recognize that America’s younger generations have always been the catalyst for change. That’s why we are hosting the annual Civics Unplugged (CU) Fellowship Convention where CU’s 200 Fellows will meet for three days in the nation’s capital.
At this convention, CU Fellows will experience D.C. through guided tours of historic buildings and monuments, experience life at our world-renowned university campus, ratify a declaration they will have drafted for a 2030 vision for American democracy, and officially launch the "Civics 2030" campaign to envision the world they want to create.
CU's mission is to empower courageous young leaders to create the future of American democracy. Their vision is to build a world where Americans across generations and geographies are empowered by their differences and united behind a shared commitment to creating a brighter future for their communities and their democracy.
