Michael Polczynski
Michael Polczynski is a historian of early modern Europe and the Ottoman Empire.
Bio and Featured Works
He earned his Ph.D. in history at Georgetown University, an M.A. in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Chicago, and a B.A. in History and Anthropology at Marquette University in his hop-forward motherland, Milwaukee Wisconsin. In past lives, he has worked as an archaeologist and a blacksmith. He is currently working on several books on early modern travel, and on Polish Muslims in the Ottoman Empire during the sixteenth century. He also enjoys working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and is helping lead Open Ottoman, an incubator for digital research in Ottoman studies.About Michael Polczynski
