Mehmet Salih Sayilgan is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at Georgetown University.

Bio and Featured Works

He received his MA in Religious Studies from the University of Alberta and PhD in Religion and Culture from the Catholic University of America. His research concentrates on Islamic theology and practice, Qur’anic studies, Islamic ethics, Islam in America, and Christian-Muslim relations. Prior to his appointment at Georgetown, Sayilgan served as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Islamic and Interreligious Studies and Louisville Postdoctoral Fellow at Wesley Theological Seminary. He is the author of An Islamic Jihad of Non-Violence and Exploring Islam: Theology and Spiritual Practice in America.
